So 3 days of fun in the sun with great people, including 2 days at Lake Anna and a full day pool party. I feel rejuvenated! And crispy. The sun got me yesterday!
Activities included boating, grilling, tubing, riding a jet ski, building relationships, diving, swimming. So much! Oh! Dancing Sat night too, to Mashup at the Pour House. And a trip to a farmer's market with my pups. And a visit with an old friend. A GOOD visit.
It felt really nice to share with a couple girlfriends yesterday that I'm working on this blog. I was proud! I really am. And they thought it was cool.
It'll be much cooler when I really start opening up, I expect. I plan to open up about my experience working in peer support services... or with and for individuals who've been trained as specialists. Specialists have mental health or substance addiction challenges too.
And I plan on opening up more and sharing parts of my story that may be unique compared to others. My time incarcerated in 2006, e.g. Child custody battling. Stresses added to my marriage. Sibling relationships. Pet ownership. Job losses. Living alone. All things that are different for individuals living with mental health challenges like mine.
I also have a lot to share about my experience facilitating WRAP workshops and training facilitators. It was an amazing period of time in my life. It was so rewarding!
